GRASS TURF
The area for turf will be marked out and approved prior to laying. Prior to beginning planting operations, the irrigation system must be completely operational to ensure 100 % coverage. NPK fertilizer will be applied at the required quantity and will be cultivated to the depth 300 mm. then lightly roll lightly grade as required to ensure levels are maintained. After grading of sub-grade is completed, no heavy equipment will be allowed to operate over it. The sub-grade will be kept moist The but not wet when the turf is laid. Turf will be laid with closely fitted joints and the ends of the strips staggered. Turf strips are to be laid smooth and flush with adjoining paving. Watering will be repeated as necessary to keep the turf moist until rooted in the subgrade. Grassed areas will be protected against foot traffic until the turf is established.
AS-BUILT DRAWINGS
One set of contract drawings will be maintained for the sole purpose of recording “As Built” conditions of the irrigation and landscaping system. All changes which are approved by the consultant and all completed works will be recorded in these drawings. All valve locations and piping will be dimensioned and recorded in these drawings. The “As Built” drawings will be prepared on the latest version of Auto Cad (or in any other format as desired by the consultant). This will be submitted to the consultant for the approval.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
Operation and maintenance manuals will be prepared and submitted for approval in draft form prior to the commencement of commissioning. These manuals shall contain comprehensive operational schedules, recommended spare parts lists; manufacturer’s operating data, catalogues and exploded parts diagrams where applicable. It will also include the materials used for the system. The manuals will be revised as per the consultant’s instruction and the final revision will be submitted in required quantity as hard and soft copies prior to the issuing of substantial completion certificate.
PRELIMINARY HAND OVER
After the successful completion of all installation, relevant commissioning tests and submission of “As-Built” drawings and operation and maintenance manuals, the consultant will be requested for a joint inspection of the site. On successful completion of the joint visit, a formal letter indicating the completion of the works and start of the maintenance period will be requested from the consultant. During the joint inspection, if any snags are noticed, the same will be listed and rectified during the maintenance period with the approval of the consultant.
